The CfSA Manifesto
Our Manifesto: A Voice for Subjects
The CfSA Manifesto sets out our vision for education built on subject expertise, professional development, and a broad, balanced curriculum for all learners.
We believe that revitalising teaching and emphasising subject knowledge are essential to creating an effective education system. Our manifesto calls for four key priorities: a broad and balanced National Curriculum fit for the 21st century, renewed focus on subject expertise at all levels of teaching, effective Initial Teacher Education with the resources needed to create a world-class workforce, and an Early Career Teacher programme that supports retention and genuine progression.
Through our network of more than 30 subject associations, CfSA offers expertise, evidence, and insight to support these goals. We work collaboratively with government, educators, and stakeholders to ensure that subject specialists have a voice in shaping education policy and practice.
The expected outcomes are clear: improved teacher recruitment and retention, a trusted professional workforce, and enhanced pupil outcomes across all subjects.
