The Association for Achievement and Improvement through Assessment (AAIA)
Association for Achievement and Improvement through Assessment (AAIA)
AAIA is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation with membership open to anyone with an interest in educational assessment, whether you are a teacher, work in an advisory or support capacity with schools or work in higher education or research. Individual, school and organisational membership options are available.
AAIA’s vision continues to be for all learners to be successful learners and for all learning communities to value effective assessment. Our aim is to achieve this by securing effective assessment practice within the education community.
The Association’s website serves to keep members up to date, makes available relevant key information and provides links to other useful sites. AAIA is also present on Facebook and Twitter.
AAIA maintains its commitment to represent members’ views on the national stage in order to challenge and influence assessment practice, for example through contact with Ofqual, Ofsted and STA/DfE or through responding to national consultations.
Regional groups provide a valuable structure for members to network and share information and views through meetings and email contact. Some regional groups run highly successful conferences and moderation meetings.
AAIA has members working in most LAs. Other members work in schools, colleges, other organisations or work independently. The Association is open to anyone working within education who has an interest in assessment.
