Resource title Global Dimension - Learning activities Source: http://www.geography.org.uk/projects/globaldimension/learningactivities/#2200 |
| Outline The main aim of this Global Dimension resource is to show how the Geography Key Stage 3 Programme of Study can be transformed to support the work of a school in promoting community cohesion. This is done through the use of the eight global dimension concepts (developed by the DfES) which help to encourage 'thinking geographically' via a variety of themes that run alongside and support much of the work done in geography:
The ideas for classroom practice outlined in the resource can be adapted as required to the needs of the school. Some sequences can be accomplished within a single lesson, while others will require longer. Full versions of each of the Learning Activities are shown in the accompanying book, while further resources and examples of classroom practice are made available online. |
